roots

When I was in college, one of my assignments was to look to nature and photograph the alphabet. I can't remember anymore than that, although because I save everything, I still have the board of photo results that I made. Anyway, today, as I walked through the gate in my back yard, I looked down and saw this tree root. I think it is pretty strange looking- if not unique.
At first it looked like a rooster's foot to me, then ET's hand, and as I kept walking I imagined painting fingernails on it, and adding some jewelry. I laughed to myself, but it was at that point that I'd decided I'd better find myself something more productive to do. But I don't know-there's always tomorrow!
